New Practise Guidelines
The purpose of this document is to outline the practise guidelines to protect the course. We endeavour to provide a first class course for playing golf as well as practise facilities for chipping, putting and pitching and bunker shots in various designated practise areas. In addition, for driving practise we offer the 18th, 16th etc. The course is our greatest asset and it is essential that we maintain it at the very highest standard for all our members and visitors alike. When completing practise members should repair any areas damaged using the divot mix available in large bins on the practise grounds. Any member found practising outside of these guidelines will be subject to the clubs rules on discipline. At all times the Professional undertaking tuition or group coaching has preference on the practise facilities.
General Restrictions
No practise of any form is allowed on or to greens or from tee boxes or bunkers which are part of the course. Practise is not allowed from any fairway deemed part of the course.
Putting Green adjacent to clubhouse
This area is to be used for putting only. Members and visitors are not allowed to chip or pitch onto the green surface.
Putting green adjacent to path to 1st tee (croquet lawn)
This area can be used for putting and chipping. Pitching, lobbing and flopping balls is not allowed at any time.
Old 3rd Green behind new 3rd green and area adjacent to overflow car park
Members are able to utilise these areas for short game practise. Members are advised to play away from the path between the 3rd and 4th tees.
Practise area from back of 2nd Green towards 1st tee
Practise should take place only in the area north of the practise nets. Only chipping is permitted in the areas immediately adjacent to the 1st tee putting green (currently (03/10) under repair and marked G.U.R.).
Main Practise ground
Members are encouraged to use the facility in order to reduce damage to other parts of the course. Practise must only take place within the confines of the practise ground. All practise shots must be made in the direction of the 14th and 15th holes i.e. away from the path and entrance gate.
Practise on the course
Members and guests playing the course have preference at all times. After 8pm members are allowed to practise from the rough to fairway on the course. To minimise damage to the course Members are not to undertake excessive practise from one spot.
Practise using Drivers
Providing other members are not playing those holes members are able to practise drivers before 10am from behind the 18th green towards the 18th tee and from the practise tee box on the 16th towards the 16th green and after 8pm from the practise ground behind the 2nd green tee towards the 2nd tee.
When completing practise members should repair any areas damaged using the divot mix available in large bins on the practise grounds. Any member found practising outside of these guidelines will be subject to the clubs rules on discipline.
At all times the Professional undertaking tuition or group coaching has priority on the practise facilities.
