Dogs on the Course ( to chase the Geese ! )

It is generally recognised that one way of seeing less of the Canada Geese is to make them feel unwelcome when they visit Sale G.C. and one thing which they do not like is being chased by a dog.

Although the Club Rules state that pets are not allowed on the Course Council have decided that dogs which are pursuing geese could be described as working dogs rather than pets. Until further notice Members will therefore be allowed, or even encouraged, to walk their dogs on the course, hopefully close to the geese. We will monitor the effect this has on the geese. Naturally any member walking a dog would be expected to make sure that players are not inconvenienced in any way. If you do intend to walk a dog it would also be useful if you let the office know who in turn will advise the green staff to expect to see you with your canine friend (s).
